In the first quarter of 2022, the top 5 News and Magazines apps on a unified platform in Peru exhibited diverse performance trends. This report, based on data from Sensor Tower, provides insights into their weekly downloads and active users.

NewsBreak: Local News & Alerts saw a notable decrease in weekly downloads, starting from 21K in late December and dropping to around 7K by the end of March. The app's active users initially increased from 35.6K to 55.6K by mid-January, followed by a decline to approximately 40.3K in late March.

NewsBreak Lite experienced a similar trend, with downloads peaking at 15.9K in early January before plummeting to just 41 by the end of March. Active users mirrored this pattern, starting from 13.4K in late December, peaking at 18.4K in mid-January, and then falling to about 7.9K by the end of the quarter.

RT News experienced a significant spike in downloads, reaching 2.6K in late February before dropping to 160 by the end of March. Active users followed a similar pattern, increasing from 223 in late December to a high of 1.6K in late February, then declining to 417 by the end of the quarter.
